This dwarf Japanese maple, with a bushy, tufted habit, will grow 4-5´ tall in 8 years with very little maintnence. ´Shaina´ was discovered as a witches´ broom mutation on another Japanese maple cultivar (´Bloodgood´). Its non-dissected leaves are clumped into masses giving it a tufted appearance. The leaves are dark maroon during the summer, changing to a brilliant red in the fall.
