Many people in colder climates have been disappointed to learn that many of the beautiful deodara cedars are not cold hardy enough for their region. Thankfully, ´Karl Fuchs´ is a wonderful exception and solution to that problem. This very cold hardy deodara was selected as a seedling for both its hardiness and its attractiveness. This upright has horizantal branches, similar to the upright blue atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica ´Glauca´). The icy blue new growth on these limbs becomes darker and richer as it matures foliage. A spectular attraction in gardens, even in colder regions.
