Buxus sempervirens

Boxwood
Zone: 5-9
4"-6" per year
8´-10´ after 10 years
upright, pyramidal (pruned)

We meticulously prune "sempervirens´, as we do all our boxwoods, for quality and shape.  We prune this particular variety  to a broad conical shape. ´Sempiverens´, or ´Common Boxwood´, has dark green foliage with lighter foliage beneath on a multi-branched shrub.  This variety does very well in the traditional hedge setting along walkways, or a seperator from street areas, but it can also be used in small groups, or to mark off special garden areas.
